  • Fudge is bred to jump, her Sire is Douglas Dun Cavalier by Belline Second Chance. Belline Second Chance’s bloodlines go back to some of the best show jumpers in the world, including ARD VDL Douglas ( Darco) and Cavalier Royal (Cor De La Bryer)

Darco-son Douglas competed success-fully in the international 1.50m classes with rider Conor Swail. As a 3-year old, Douglas underwent his stallion test in Adelheidsdorf, earning the 1st place in jumping with 139.49. As a 4-year old Douglas was the Champion of Ireland in his age group. At the age of 6, he was Irish reserve champion. Descendants of Douglas were sold for enormous prices at several auctions. Daddy Cool sold for € 300.000 at the Jumping Talent Sale 2016, De Beers sold for $190.000 at the WEF Sport Horse Auction 2015, Lavino JE was sold for €21.000 in the Star Sale foal auction 2016 and Darko Z was sold at the Zangersheide foal auction 2014 for € 24.000. Cavalier Royale has the distinction of being the most successful procreator of top show jumpers in Ireland in recent years; further he is the only sire to produce international level performers from the many imported continental warmblood sires that have stood in Ireland.

  • Fudges Dam is All About Eve. All About Eve’s sire is Adam IV (Alme Z ex Tout Brule ex Furioso xx) her dam is My Diamond Cluster (The Pride of Gloster (Clover Hill) ex King of Diamonds)

The golden bay Anglo-Norman stallion Almé Z is a phenomenon. Without ever having stood at stud in Germany, the 1966 French born Ibrahim son influenced almost all the German warmblood breeds from the Belgian model studfarm of Zangersheide. Before he went to stud in Belgium, he had already performed covering duty at his French home and left inter alia the approved sons Galoubet, I love you and Jalisco, all of whom have played a role in international showjumping. Almé Z was himself a successful international showjumper with Francois Mathy and Johan Heins and transmitted his gift for jumping lavishly to his progeny. Almé Z was one of the most significant sires of the twentieth century and most certainly the first who deserves the title of “Euro-stallion”.

In Irish, US and UK top sporthorse pedigrees, Clover Hill’s name crops up with amazing frequency, his blood flows in almost all of the great showjumpers of his era, and continues to be reflected in the success of subsequent generations of showjumpers and eventers.

‘The single best known Irish Draught of modern times’, King of Diamonds has been described as the saviour of the Irish Draught as a breed, as a result of his ‘prepotent jumping ability’.King of Diamonds is ranked 21st in the World Breeding Rankings for the period 1992 – 2001 on the basis of 19 of his progeny, including Rodrigo Pessoa’s Special Envoy, John Ledingham’s Millstreet Ruby, and Joe Fargis’ Mill Pearl.
